The International Kite Meetings of Berck-sur-Mer are the largest kite festival in the world. Created in 1987, this event brings together hundreds of professional kite flyers from around the world every April on the immense beach of Berck-sur-Mer, on the Côte d'Opale.
For ten days, the sky of Berck is adorned with thousands of colors. Monumental kites several tens of meters long, giant inflatable structures, acrobatic kites, and artistic creations transform the beach into an open-air art gallery. Among the most spectacular pieces, giant octopuses, manta rays, and 60-meter-long cobras are regularly seen undulating in the wind.
Each edition features a guest country. Delegations from around the world meet in Berck to share their passion and expertise. The 2025 edition had the Americas as its theme, with Colombia as the guest of honor.
Beyond the aerial show, the Meetings offer numerous activities: kite-making workshops, a heroes' village, the Jardin d'Éole, nighttime fireworks displays, and acrobatic flying demonstrations. The event is completely free and accessible to all, making the Meetings a prime family gathering.
With over 500,000 visitors during the festival, the International Kite Meetings are the most important tourist event in the Pas-de-Calais and one of the largest free public gatherings in France.
The 39th edition of the International Kite Meetings will take place from April 18 to 26, 2026, on the beach of Berck-sur-Mer. Nine days of free aerial show with kite flyers from around the world.
