Jazz à Semur is a jazz festival born in 2021 on the initiative of the JAS (Jazz à Semur) association, founded in 2019. In just a few editions, it has established itself as a recognized musical event in Burgundy, attracting jazz lovers from across the region. The festival takes place in early July in the medieval city of Semur-en-Auxois, offering a remarkable heritage setting to appreciate jazz in all its forms.
Three evenings, a diverse program
The Jazz à Semur festival unfolds over three consecutive evenings. Each evening offers several concerts in a warm atmosphere, with on-site catering and a bar. The program brings together recognized jazz figures and artists from the current scene: classical jazz and reinterpretations of masters, contemporary jazz mixed with electronics, festive and danceable projects. The presence of female and male musicians is a strong focus of the artistic project.
The Parc de la Mairie, an open-air setting
Since the 2026 edition, concerts have been held outdoors at the Parc de la Mairie in Semur-en-Auxois (the Le Bahut venue hosted the previous edition). The deliberately limited capacity, around 400 seats, encourages interaction between artists and the public and attentive listening. Some evenings also take place in other heritage sites in the city, such as the collegiate church Notre-Dame for an organ concert.
Jazz à Semur — edition 2026
The 6th edition of the Jazz à Semur festival takes place from July 2 to 4, 2026 in Semur-en-Auxois. This edition is held outdoors at the Parc de la Mairie, with an organ concert at the collégiale Notre-Dame on Saturday. The program features nearly thirty musicians over three evenings, in a friendly atmosphere with on-site catering and a refreshment stand.
The program brings together recognized jazz figures and artists from the current scene: Philippe Soirat's quartet, Andy Emler's E.T.E trio, Ludivine Issambourg's jazz-funk sextet, Swiss-Polish-Japanese artist Yumi Ito, the Strasbourg trio Emile Londonien, as well as Klo&Ange and Ninanda. Student concerts (CRR de Dijon, École de Musique et de Danse de l'Auxois Morvan) complete the lineup.

- 7:30 PM — CRR Dijon · Concert by students of the Professional Orientation Cycle of the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Dijon
- 9:00 PM — Klo&Ange · Nu-jazz and soul inspired by the new British scene, machines, synthesizers, vocals and electronic textures
- 10:30 PM — Ninanda · Quartet (Nina Gat, Ananda Brandão, Mathieu Scala, Maxime Boyer), mixed jazz sung in Portuguese, Hebrew, French and English, with folk accents

- 7:30 PM — Philippe Soirat 4tet · Quartet of the drummer, a figure of French jazz, between compositions and reinterpretations of Wayne Shorter or Miles Davis
- 9:00 PM — Andy Emler Trio E.T.E · Over 25 years of a language between experimental jazz, improvisation and pop influences
- 10:30 PM — Ludivine Issambourg 6tet · Jazz-funk groove from the flutist, rhythm section and brass
