Jazz à Semur is a jazz festival born in 2021 on the initiative of the JAS association (Jazz à Semur), founded in 2019. In just a few editions, it has established itself as a must-attend musical event in Burgundy, attracting jazz lovers from all over the region. The festival takes place in early July in the medieval city of Semur-en-Auxois, offering a remarkable heritage setting to appreciate jazz music in all its forms.

Three evenings, three atmospheres

The Jazz à Semur festival unfolds over three consecutive evenings, each offering a different musical flavor:

• An evening of classic jazz, paying homage to the great standards and masters of the genre.
• An evening of contemporary jazz, exploring crossovers with electronic music and current sounds.
• An evening of festive and dancing jazz, with lively music that invites the audience to get up and dance.

This diversity of programming allows it to reach a wide audience, from jazz purists to those curious about new sounds.

Le Bahut, an intimate and warm venue

The concerts take place at Le Bahut, located at 12 rue du Lycée in Semur-en-Auxois. This intimate venue with approximately 400 seats fosters interaction between artists and festival-goers, creating a rare closeness between the stage and the audience. The warm atmosphere of the place contributes to making Jazz à Semur a unique musical experience in Burgundy.
