Jazz sur son 31 — the major jazz event in Haute-Garonne

Created in 1987 by the Conseil Départemental de la Haute-Garonne, Jazz sur son 31 has become one of the most important jazz festivals in the Occitanie region. Every autumn, over about twelve days in October, the event spreads throughout the entire department — Toulouse, but also partner municipalities in Haute-Garonne that host concerts, conferences, screenings, and meetings.

A festival designed for the entire territory

The particularity of Jazz sur son 31 lies in its itinerant and accessible nature: the program is spread across numerous venues — municipal cultural halls, heritage sites, bars and cafes (the « Bar-Bars sur son 31 » program), media libraries. A majority of the concerts are free, the other part is paid (on average 10 € to 30 € depending on the capacity and the headliner).

A recognized program

Since its creation in 1987 — with Miles Davis from the very first editions — Jazz sur son 31 has welcomed the greatest international jazz figures alongside the emerging French and regional scene. The festival advocates a broad idea of jazz, open to Afro-American music, song, improvised music, and cross-genre collaborations.

2026 Edition — the 40th

In 2026, Jazz sur son 31 will celebrate its 40th edition. As every year, it will take place in October throughout Haute-Garonne. As of the update date of this page, the precise dates for the 2026 edition and the program have not yet been published by the Conseil Départemental. Ticketing traditionally opens in late August, on the official festik platform.
