Jazz'neuil: Jazz in Celebration in the Creuse Valley
Every summer, the village of Chasseneuil, nestled in the Creuse Valley in the south of Indre, comes alive to the rhythm of jazz with the Jazz'neuil festival. This free and popular event, organized by the Chasseneuil town hall, has become a must-attend gathering for jazz music enthusiasts in Berry. The town, located near the majestic Château de Chabenet and in the heart of a hilly landscape typical of southern Berry, offers an idyllic setting for this summer musical event.
An Eclectic and Festive Program
The Jazz'neuil program showcases the diversity of jazz: enchanting Latin jazz, lively swing, warm gypsy jazz, and original compositions follow one another on the open-air stage set up in the village. The invited bands, selected for their energy and talent, offer a lively performance accessible to all audiences. Among the groups that have marked previous editions, we find Latin jazz ensembles like Mara Kana and swing bands like Mellis & The Swing Lovers.
Fireworks as a Grand Finale
A popular feature of Jazz'neuil: fireworks are set off between concerts, offering a magical moment under the stars of the Berry countryside. The concert then resumes to extend the celebration until the end of the night, creating a unique and memorable atmosphere. This pyrotechnic display, offered by the municipality, is a highlight that the public eagerly awaits each year.
Rooted in the Creuse Valley
Jazz'neuil is part of the cultural dynamism of the Creuse Valley, a region rich in natural and architectural heritage. The festival contributes to the tourist appeal of the town and its surroundings, inviting visitors to discover the charms of this preserved region between Berry and Limousin. The proximity of remarkable sites such as the Château de Chabenet and the gorges of the Creuse makes Jazz'neuil an ideal stop for a cultural and nature-focused stay.
Friendliness and Accessibility
Admission to the festival is completely free, in line with the municipality's commitment to offering a cultural event accessible to all. On-site catering is available with affordable meals, as well as a bar for refreshments. The site is accessible to people with reduced mobility. Jazz'neuil embodies the spirit of celebration and sharing that characterizes the rural towns of Berry, where music brings together all generations.
