About La Brèche
La Brèche — edition 2026
The 10th edition of La Brèche Festival takes place from May 2 to 15, 2026, around Lake Bourget, with ten events between Chambéry, Aix-les-Bains, and Grésy-sur-Aix. For this anniversary, the festival brings together its collaborating artists and inaugurates its first film concert.
10th Edition — May 2 to 15, 2026
For its tenth anniversary, La Brèche Festival celebrates musical creation between lake and mountain with a focused yet ambitious program: ten concerts and artistic events spread between the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Chambéry, the Caramagne estate, Le Victoria cinema, and the Salon Raphaël in Aix-les-Bains, as well as L'Esquisse in Grésy-sur-Aix.
An Anniversary Edition: Loyalty and Novelties
The 2026 edition brings back artists who have marked the festival's history, such as Fiona Monbet and Pierre Cussac, present since the first edition, who will close the fortnight at Salon Raphaël with the Quatuor Agate. Pianist Romain Louveau, the festival's musical director, is once again at the forefront, notably alongside mezzo-soprano Victoire Bunel and baritone Jean-Christophe Lanièce for the opening concert Le Chant du Cygne, dedicated to Schubert's last lieder.
A First: A Film Concert
For its anniversary, La Brèche ventures into the realm of film concerts for the first time with a screening of The Doll (La Poupée) (1919), a silent comedy by Ernst Lubitsch, accompanied live by Duo Brady (cellos) and Pierre Cussac (accordion). Join us at Le Victoria cinema in Aix-les-Bains on Tuesday, May 12 at 8 PM.
Dance, Storytelling, and Music at the Caramagne Estate
The Caramagne estate in Chambéry hosts several hybrid proposals: Garden, a dialogue between violist Victor Guaita Igual and dancer Jacob Storer in the castle gardens; dancer François Chaignaud's recital accompanied by Romain Louveau; and Dans la forêt…, a musical tale for young audiences aged 5 and up, bringing together storyteller Esmé Planchon, videographer Jacques Perconte, and accordionist Sven Riondet. Pianists Maroussia Gentet and Romain Louveau share a two-keyboard program centered on great love lieder with singers Andres Agudelo and Marie Soubestre in Je t'aime, et rien ne le dit.

La Brèche Festival: When Chamber Music Opens New Paths
Founded in 2017, La Brèche Festival was born from the desire to reinvent concert formats and bring chamber music to life in unexpected locations in the Savoie region. For a fortnight in the spring, the festival spreads across Aix-les-Bains, Chambéry, Le Bourget-du-Lac, Grésy-sur-Aix, and Cognin, transforming each place into an ephemeral musical stage.
Reinvented Concert Formats
La Brèche's ambition is to constantly offer new concert formats and outreach activities, moving works and audiences to share the love of music. Concerts in gardens, performances in natural settings, musical walks along the Lac du Bourget, immersive shows in heritage sites: the festival explores the boundaries between classical concerts and contemporary artistic experiences.
Unique Artists at the Heart of the Project
La Brèche's programming revolves around unique artists and musicians committed to contemporary creation. The festival collaborates closely with the Orchestre des Pays de Savoie and invites leading ensembles and soloists for programs that blend classical repertoire, original creations, and contemporary pieces. Each edition is conceived as a coherent artistic journey, with thematic threads connecting the concerts.
Lac du Bourget as a Playground
The exceptional natural setting of the Lac du Bourget and its surroundings is a central element of the festival's identity. The Alpine landscapes, the lake shores, the parks, and gardens of the towns crossed offer striking natural backdrops for outdoor concerts. This geographical dimension gives the festival a unique atmosphere, where music resonates with the surrounding nature.
A Festival of Proximity and Sharing
La Brèche cultivates a spirit of proximity and accessibility. Small ensemble concerts, outreach workshops, and meetings with musicians allow the audience to experience an intimate and enriching musical journey. The festival is aimed at all audiences, from seasoned music lovers to curious newcomers, with particular attention to young audiences and families.
