Mably Street Arts Festival
Since 1997, La Fêtobourg has transformed Mably's town center into a grand open-air theater every year. Supported by the cultural department of the City of Mably and the association Lez'Arts d'Ailleurs, with the backing of Roannais Agglomération, this free and family-friendly festival has become a must-attend event for the start of the school year in the Roannais region, attracting around 7,000 spectators over three days.
For three days, about fifteen professional companies from France and abroad take over the tree-lined park of the town hall and the streets of the town center with open-air performances. Circus, acrobatics, street theater, dance, music, mime, and clown shows follow one another to offer a concentrate of emotions, laughter, and surprises for all ages. Each edition also features games, an exhibition, a participatory mural, and a refreshment area under the big top.
Originally Mably's patronal festival, La Fêtobourg gradually specialized in street arts. In 2002, the association Lez'Arts d'Ailleurs joined the City as co-organizer, bringing its expertise in artistic programming. Since then, the festival has continued to grow, attracting nationally and internationally renowned companies while retaining its spirit of a popular and friendly celebration.
La Fêtobourg also means the funfair with its rides set up in the village. At nightfall, the traditional torchlight procession, accompanied by a local brass band, animates the streets and the castle park, perpetuating a tradition dear to the people of Mably.
La Fêtobourg returns for its 30th edition from Friday, August 28 to Sunday, August 30, 2026, in the tree-lined park of the town hall and the streets of Mably's town center. This anniversary edition promises three days of celebration, performances, and emotions under the open sky, for all ages.
As every year, about fifteen professional companies from France and abroad will take over the town center to offer performances of circus, street theater, acrobatics, dance, music, and mime in the open air. The festival will also feature games, participatory activities, and the unmissable refreshment area under the big top.
The funfair and its rides will be back in the village, and the traditional torchlight procession accompanied by a local brass band will conclude the evenings in the streets and the castle park. Admission remains completely free.
