The largest XR event in Europe

Founded in 1999, Laval Virtual has established itself over a quarter of a century as the essential European meeting point for immersive technologies. Every year in April, the Espace Mayenne in Laval hosts this international event covering the entire spectrum of virtual, augmented, and mixed realities, spatial computing, and artificial intelligence applied to immersive worlds. With over 5,000 professional visitors, nearly 200 exhibitors, and about sixty speakers from over 30 countries, Laval Virtual is a unique hub of innovation, research, and business.

An exhibition at the heart of innovation

The exhibition spans five halls of the Espace Mayenne, offering a comprehensive overview of the latest technological advancements. Visitors can discover and test the latest generation of virtual reality headsets, haptic devices, motion capture systems, digital twin solutions for industry, immersive training platforms, and many other innovations. Startups rub shoulders with major industrial groups, research laboratories, and engineering schools, creating an ecosystem conducive to partnerships and technology transfers.

International conferences and expertise

The Laval Virtual conference program brings together world-renowned experts to discuss the major challenges of immersive technologies: industrial transformation, healthcare, professional training, architecture, cultural heritage, defense, entertainment, and the metaverse. Technical conferences delve into scientific and technological aspects, while keynotes offer a forward-looking perspective on the future of XR technologies. Special sessions are dedicated to artificial intelligence, robotics, and video games.

The Laval Virtual Awards

A highlight of the event, the Laval Virtual Awards annually recognize the most innovative projects in various categories: best immersive experience, best industrial solution, best health application, best research project, and audience award. The awards ceremony, accompanied by the LV Party, is a moment of conviviality and networking appreciated by all participants.

Recto VRso: Art and Virtual Reality

Alongside the professional exhibition, Recto VRso is the artistic component of Laval Virtual. This exhibition-festival, open to the general public, explores the intersections between contemporary art and immersive technologies. International artists present interactive installations, virtual reality works, and digital performances that question our relationship with virtual worlds and AI-assisted creation.

Laval, capital of virtual reality

The existence of Laval Virtual for over 25 years has profoundly transformed the economic and scientific fabric of the city of Laval and the department of Mayenne. The Laval Virtual Center, an international hub dedicated to immersive technologies, operates year-round as a center for research, incubation, and training. The Laval Virtual association, which organizes the event, also manages a network of professionals and supports companies in their digital transformation through XR technologies.
