Poetry festival in the libraries of Pyrénées-Atlantiques
Le Printemps des Poètes 64 is the departmental branch of the major national event celebrating poetry, coordinated by the Department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques through Biblio64, the departmental library. Every year in March, about twenty libraries in the department participate in this event which offers readings, exhibitions, meetings with poets and photographers, writing workshops, and poetic performances. The theme for the 2026 edition is “Liberty. Living force, deployed,” with actress Isabelle Adjani as the godmother of this 28th national edition.
Every March, Printemps des Poètes 64 brings the libraries and media centers of Pyrénées-Atlantiques to life with poetry. Coordinated by Biblio64, the departmental library, this event mobilizes about twenty public reading establishments, from the Basque Country to Béarn, to celebrate the power of words and the poetic art in all its forms.
Printemps des Poètes 64 offers a diverse program:
The theme of the 28th national edition of Printemps des Poètes is “Liberty. Living force, deployed.” Actress Isabelle Adjani is its godmother, lending her voice and commitment to poetry. In the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, participating libraries will explore this theme through original local programming, from March 9 to 31, 2026.
