Les Concerts de Vollore: The Dean of Puy-de-Dôme Festivals

Founded in 1978, Les Concerts de Vollore is the oldest festival in Puy-de-Dôme. For nearly five decades, it has enlivened the Livradois-Forez region every summer with a demanding and eclectic musical program, blending classical music, jazz, and world music.

Passionate Artistic Direction

Under the artistic direction of Bruno Chanel, the festival has evolved while retaining its identity: offering high-quality concerts in remarkable heritage locations. Each year, the association invites renowned international artists and promising young talents, offering the public a summer season rich with about 15 concerts.

A Traveling Festival in the Heart of Heritage

One of the unique aspects of Les Concerts de Vollore is its traveling nature. The concerts take place in 13 municipalities within the Thiers Dore et Montagne Community of Communes, occupying historic sites:

• Romanesque and Gothic churches with remarkable acoustics
• Château de Vollore, former fief of the La Fayette family
• Chapels and heritage halls of the territory

An Eclectic Program

The festival offers a broad musical panorama, from the classical repertoire to contemporary creations, including jazz and world music. The ensembles invited range from solo recitals to large symphony orchestras, allowing the discovery of the richness of live music.

L'Autre Saison

For several years, Les Concerts de Vollore has extended its activities beyond the summer with « L'Autre Saison », a series of major symphony, jazz, and world music concerts programmed throughout the calendar year, particularly at the Saint-Genès church in Thiers.

Les Concerts de Vollore has become a preferred destination for music lovers every summer. The festival contributes to the cultural influence of the region and the enhancement of the architectural and natural heritage of Livradois-Forez, also offering "concert + meal" packages in partnership with local restaurateurs.
