Summer cultural program of the City of Clermont-Ferrand
Created in 2001 by the City of Clermont-Ferrand, Les Contre-plongées de l'été are the free summer cultural program of the Auvergne capital. From July to August, about fifty events take over the city's parks, gardens, and squares: open-air cinema, concerts, street performances, circus, dance, theater, and contemporary readings. Accessible to all audiences from the youngest age, this free event enlivens Clermont-Ferrand all summer long.
Since 2001, Les Contre-plongées de l'été have been the summer cultural program of the City of Clermont-Ferrand. Each year, from July to August, about fifty free events take over the city's public spaces to offer Clermont residents and visitors a summer rich in artistic discoveries.
Les Contre-plongées offer an eclectic program that embraces many artistic disciplines:
The events unfold in Clermont-Ferrand's most emblematic public spaces:
One of the strengths of Les Contre-plongées is its total freeness. All events are free access, making it a truly popular and accessible event for everyone. From infants to the elderly, everyone can find a suitable cultural offering.
Organized by the Culture Department of the City of Clermont-Ferrand, Les Contre-plongées have become a must-attend event of the Clermont summer. They contribute to the city's animation during the summer period and to the democratization of access to culture, by offering quality performances in public spaces.
Les Contre-plongées pay particular attention to families and young audiences. Sports workshops, board games, astronomy initiations, and shows adapted for toddlers (from 3 months old) complement the program of concerts and open-air cinema, making this event a privileged moment of intergenerational sharing.
Les Contre-plongées de l'été 2026 will liven up Clermont-Ferrand from early July to late August 2026 with a free cultural program: open-air cinema, concerts, street performances, circus, dance, theater, and workshops for families in the city's parks, gardens, and squares.
