Les Écrans de l'Aventure
The international adventure film festival in Dijon
2026
About Écrans de l'Aventure
Les Écrans de l'aventure is Dijon's international adventure film festival. Since 1992, La Guilde and the city of Dijon have brought together directors, adventurers, explorers, and writers every autumn for a series of screenings, meet-and-greets, and exhibitions.
Écrans de l'Aventure — edition 2026
The 35th edition of Les Écrans de l'aventure will take place from September 30 to October 4, 2026, in Dijon, hosted across the Cinéville and Le Darcy cinemas and the Cellier de Clairvaux. The event features competitive documentaries, meet-and-greets, exhibitions, and the Toisons d'or awards ceremony. The film selection and schedule have not yet been released.
2026 Edition
The 35th edition runs from September 30 to October 4, 2026, in Dijon. As it has since 1992, the festival is organized by La Guilde in partnership with the City of Dijon.
The official poster, unveiled on July 18, 2026, is titled "Rêver ancré" (Anchored Dreaming). Graphic designer Vincent Hanrion created it using an image by Stephen Rater, an astronomer and traveler dedicated to building a community observatory in the Mustang region of Nepal through his association, Marche à l'étoile. The poster also pays tribute to two space-faring Burgundians, Claudie Haigneré and Sophie Adenot.
New Ticketing System
In 2026, the festival is switching to single-session tickets: one ticket grants access to one screening and one film, at a flat rate of €5 full price and €3.50 reduced price at both Cinéville and Le Darcy. 5-session and 10-session passes remain available for pre-sale until September 20, but they do not serve as tickets themselves: each screening must be booked online between September 3 and 30 using the pass member code.
Event Scale
The organizers have released their 2025 figures: 15,000 attendees, 80% of whom were from the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, and 111 events including 44 films, 31 literary sessions, 12 lectures and round tables, 10 nature experiences, 15 family and school activities, 5 exhibitions, and 2 bookstores. These were supported by 120 guests, 130 volunteers and staff, and 2,000 visiting students.

The home of adventure in Dijon since 1992
In 1992, Dr. Pierre Fyot proposed that the international adventure film festival bring its reels to Dijon. From the Théâtre des Feuillants to the city center cinemas, Les Écrans de l'aventure has made itself at home, returning every autumn. The event is organized by La Guilde in partnership with the city of Dijon.
The festival showcases French and international documentaries covering every facet of adventure: expeditions, explorations, portraits, personal accounts, and creative works. Films are screened in the presence of those who brought them to life, including protagonists, directors, producers, or authors.
Meetings, exhibitions, and books
The program also features a variety of events alongside the screenings: illustrated talks and conferences, panel discussions, exhibitions, nature experiences, activities for families and schools, and two bookstores. A literary competition also honors an adventure book each year.
The Toisons d'or awards
The awards are centered around the Toisons d'or. Five prizes are awarded to films: the Toison d'or for Adventure Film of the Year, sponsored by the city of Dijon; the Jury's Special Prize; the Jean-Marc Boivin Prize, which honors the authenticity of a lived adventure; the Youth Prize from the city of Dijon; and the Les Écrans de l'aventure Audience Award. Two prizes recognize books: the Toison d'or for Adventure Book of the Year, sponsored by the Gibert bookstore, and the Readers' Prize from the Dijon Municipal Library. Additionally, the Toison d'or for Adventurer of the Year honors an outstanding career or achievement.
Four juries determine the winners: a documentary film jury made up of film and adventure professionals, a youth jury from the Dijon Children's Municipal Council, a literary jury of authors and publishing and journalism professionals, and a readers' jury from the Dijon Municipal Library.
