Every summer, the gardens of the Abbey of Thiron-Gardais light up on Saturday evenings to host the Nocturnes de l'Abbaye, a series of festive and convivial evenings that bring this small town of character in Perche to life. Locally known as the "Saturdays of Summer", these evenings combine music, gastronomy, and heritage in an enchanting setting.

Concerts under the stars

Every Saturday in July and August, a free concert is organized in the Jardin Imbert, adjacent to the Abbey Estate. The musical program varies from one Saturday to another, offering a panorama of musical styles: rock, French chanson, jazz, folk, world music. Bands like Santerne, Les Triops, or Équinoxe have animated these evenings, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere.

The natural acoustics of the garden, surrounded by the ancient walls of the abbey, give the concerts a special resonance. Spectators settle on the grass or on chairs provided, enjoying the mild Perche summer nights in a fairytale setting.

Craft market and friendly barbecue

From 7 PM, a night craft market sets up in the gardens, offering local Perche products, artisanal creations, and local curiosities. A barbecue allows visitors to eat on site in a village festival atmosphere. The refreshment stand offers local beers, Perche ciders, and cold drinks.

This moment of sharing around food and music brings together long-time residents and newcomers, families and summer visitors, in a spirit of conviviality that characterizes the Perche region.

Torchlight procession and fireworks

The highlight of some evenings is the torchlight procession organized through the village streets, followed by fireworks launched in the abbey gardens around 11 PM. This pyrotechnic show, whose reflections dance on the medieval walls, creates a magical moment that stays in visitors' memories.

The Abbey of Thiron-Gardais, a jewel of Perche

Founded in 1114 by Saint Bernard de Ponthieu, the Abbey of the Holy Trinity of Thiron-Gardais was one of the most important abbeys of the Tiron order. The Abbey Estate today includes the abbatial church, the restored monastic buildings, the historic gardens, and a museum. This exceptional heritage offers a unique setting for the Nocturnes, blending living culture and millennial heritage.
