Art and Sport Meet in Maubourguet
The Rencontres de Maubourguet is a unique cultural and sporting event, created over thirty years ago in this town in the Adour valley. The festival is based on an original concept: the meeting of Art and Sport, bringing together renowned artists and athletes for three days of festivities.
A Rich and Varied Program
Art and Exhibitions
The Centre Culturel Jean Glavany hosts exhibitions by invited artists: painters, sculptors, photographers, and visual artists. Live artistic creations allow the public to observe the artists at work. In 2026, the theme is "Art in Motion".
Sport and Encounters
The Rencontres offer rugby matches, sporting challenges, and workshops led by sports personalities. Guest of honor regularly include figures from French rugby and sports.
Festive Atmosphere
The event takes place in a friendly and regional atmosphere, with catering, drinks, musical entertainment, and autograph sessions.
Prestigious Guests
Each edition hosts about sixty personalities, artists, and athletes. In 2025, for the 34th edition on the theme "Longing for Elsewhere", the guests of honor were sculptor Vincent Avril, painter Melain Nzindou, and Claude Onesta (a figure in French handball).

- Collective Exhibition — Salle Océane of Maubourguet Town Hall: each invited artist presents a personal work, visible during the three days.
- Guest of Honor Exhibition — Jean Glavany Cultural Center: the two guests of honor, painter Joël Achard and sculptor François Garnier, exhibit their creations there (featured on the 2026 poster).
- The Night of Gazes — invited artists paint live on the theme «Art in Motion»; the completed works are then exhibited and sold at auction, with a portion of the funds going to a charity.
- Free Artistic Workshops — under the tent of the Larbanès alleys, artists share their art and introduce children to the secrets of creation.
- Workshops and Sports Meetings — invited athletes, rugby matches, discussions about sports.
- Festive Entertainment — live creations on the town's alleys, signing sessions and bodegas in the typical atmosphere of the Sud-Ouest.
