Les Soirées de la Cale: Summer by the Mayenne River

Since 2021, Les Soirées de la Cale has animated the banks of the Mayenne river every summer, between the Pont Notre-Dame and the Tourist Office. Supported by the City of Mayenne in partnership with local associations, these summer evenings transform the Quai de Waiblingen into a festive and friendly space, open to all and free of charge.

An eclectic musical program

Every week of the summer, Les Soirées de la Cale offers free concerts in various styles:

• Rock and Pop: Local and regional bands take the stage by the river
• French Chanson: Artists performing the French repertoire
• World Music: Afro-pop, rockabilly, country-folk to take you on a journey for an evening
• Variety and Tribute Bands: Tributes to rock legends (Queen, Rolling Stones)
• Brass bands and DJ sets: Festive atmosphere guaranteed, especially for July 14th

Open-air cinema and family activities

Beyond the concerts, Les Soirées de la Cale offers open-air cinema screenings on a big screen by the water, as well as daytime activities accessible to the whole family. Recurring events include:

• Libraries on the move: Readings and storytelling for children
• Knit your city!: Participatory creative workshops
• Capoeira demonstrations
• River cruises on the Mayenne
• Local producers' markets in partnership with Nomade Guinguette Mobile

July 14th: An exceptional evening

The highlight of the program is the July 14th evening, which combines concerts, water activities, cruises, and a grand fireworks display at 11 PM by the river, attracting thousands of spectators.

A pop-up bar by the river

On concert evenings, a pop-up bar offers drinks and light snacks by the water, creating a guinguette atmosphere conducive to meeting people and relaxing. The Cale's program is the result of collaborative work between the City's services and local associations, reflecting Mayenne's cultural dynamism.
