Celebration of AOC Menetou-Salon

Les Vignes en Fête is a must-attend event for wine and wine heritage enthusiasts in the Cher department. Organized every year in early September in Menetou-Salon, this event highlights the AOC Menetou-Salon, an appellation recognized since 1959, which produces white wines (Sauvignon grape) and red/rosé wines (Pinot Noir grape) on the slopes of Berry.

Walking Tour Through the Vineyards

The day begins with a 10-kilometer walking tour starting from the Place des Tilleuls at 8:30 AM. The route crosses the vineyards of Menetou-Salon, offering participants panoramic views of the Berry landscapes and explanations about the vineyard, terroirs, grape varieties, climate, and the winemakers' know-how. Educational panels along the route introduce the history and specificities of the AOC.

Tastings at Château de Maupas

Upon returning from the walk, participants are welcomed at the Château de Maupas for AOC Menetou-Salon tastings. Winemakers from the appellation present their wines and share their passion for wine in an exceptional heritage setting. Traditional musical entertainment accompanies these tasting moments, creating a festive and convivial atmosphere.

Lunch at the Winemakers' Table

The day continues with a convivial lunch at the winemakers' table, bringing together participants, producers, and locals around local gastronomic specialties accompanied by Menetou-Salon wines. This meal strengthens the links between the land, the people who work it, and those who celebrate it.
