Three days of free open-air concerts on the slopes of Tignes
Live in Tignes by Francofolies is a free music festival that transforms the resort of Tignes into an open-air music stage every spring. Born from a partnership with the famous Francofolies de La Rochelle, this unique event offers three days of concerts on two open-air stages — one of which is set up directly on the slopes at an altitude of 2,200 meters — featuring over a dozen artists from the French and international music scene. With no pass or ticket required, the festival offers free and open access to all spectators, skiers and pedestrians alike, in a festive atmosphere blending skiing and live music in the heart of Haute Tarentaise.
Every year in April, as the ski season draws to a close, Live in Tignes by Francofolies offers a beautiful finale for mountain and music lovers. For three days, the Savoyard resort transforms into a true open-air festival, with two stages set up in the heart of the resort: one on the snow front of Lac de Tignes, at the center of village life, and the other directly on the slopes, accessible by ski or on foot without a ski pass.
This bold concept was born from a collaboration between the resort of Tignes and the legendary Francofolies de La Rochelle, guaranteeing a high-level musical program curated by one of the most prestigious Francophone festivals. The idea: to democratize access to live music in the mountains, without price barriers or ticketing, against a backdrop of snow-capped peaks.
Each edition hosts over ten artists on the two stages, mixing headliners and emerging talents from the French and international scene. The festival has already welcomed diverse artists such as Bigflo & Oli, Shaka Ponk, Catherine Ringer, Juliette Armanet, Tryo, Ofenbach, Lorenzo, Gauvain Sers, Naâman, Les Wampas, Féfé & Leroy, and L.E.J. The programming ranges from French chanson to pop, rock, electro, and reggae, reflecting the spirit of the Francofolies: a plural celebration of Francophone music and beyond.
The atmosphere is unique: spectators arrive on skis at the on-slope stage, concerts take place facing the peaks of the Grande Motte and Grande Casse, and the ambiance, oscillating between a music festival and an end-of-season party, creates unforgettable memories. DJ sets extend the party in the resort's bars and restaurants late into the night.
One of Live in Tignes' major strengths is its total freeness. No ticket or pass is required to access the concerts, whether on the on-slope stage or the village stage. The on-slope stage is accessible without a ski pass, allowing non-skiers to fully enjoy the show. This commitment to accessibility makes the event a popular and unifying gathering that brings together residents, vacationers, families, and music lovers in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Organized by the resort of Tignes with the support of the Francofolies, Live in Tignes has established itself in a few editions as one of the must-attend musical events in the Alpine resorts' calendar, proving that the high mountains can host large-scale cultural events in an exceptional natural setting.
The festival takes place in Tignes, in Haute Tarentaise (Savoie). Two stages are set up: one in the heart of Tignes Le Lac (1,810 m) and the other on the slopes at an altitude of 2,200 m, accessible by ski or on foot without a ski pass.
Free — All concerts are free and open access, with no ticket or reservation required. No ski pass is needed to access the on-slope stage.
The festival takes place every year in April, over three days, generally during the third or fourth week of the month.
