About Local Cinema Festival
The Festival Cinéma d'Ici brings films shot, produced, or written in Occitanie to the big screen in Castelnaudary. For thirteen years, it has fostered dialogue through premieres, meetings with directors and technicians, workshops, and debates centered on local cinema with a global perspective.
The event is hosted by the Cinéma d'Automne association and takes place at the local Véo cinema.
Local Cinema Festival — edition 2026
The 13th edition, running from September 23rd to 27th, 2026, celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Canal du Midi's UNESCO World Heritage status, featuring it as both a backdrop and a character in several of the films on display. The festival also highlights the voices of female filmmakers, documentary makers, and behind-the-scenes professionals, with a special focus on set photographers.
