An iconic race in Lozère
Created in 2003 by the running club Salta Bartas of Chanac, the Lozère Trail has become over the editions one of the unmissable sporting events of the department. Organized every year on the Pentecost weekend, it offers total immersion in the spectacular landscapes of Lozère, between limestone plateaus, deep valleys, and vertiginous gorges.
Formats for all levels
The event offers several races adapted to all types of runners:
- Ultra Lozère (110 km): a two-stage adventure over two days, combining the 2 Rivières course and the historic Lozère Trail
- 2 Rivières (52 km, 2400 m D+): starting from Sainte-Énimie, finishing in Chanac on Saturday
- Skyrace (26 km): starting from Sainte-Énimie on Saturday, a technical course along the ridges
- Historic Lozère Trail (27 km, 1100 m D+): the original race starting from Chanac on Sunday
- Salta Bartas (12 km, 500 m D+): an accessible format on Sunday
Hikes and children's races
In addition to the trail races, 10 km and 20 km hikes are offered on Sunday, as well as races for children, making this event a sporting celebration open to the whole family.
An exceptional territory
The Lozère Trail courses cross remarkable natural sites: the Causses de Sauveterre and Méjean, the Lot valley, the Gorges du Tarn, and the typical limestone plateaus of Lozère. The trails offer breathtaking views of a preserved natural heritage, with cliffs, pine forests, and characteristic villages.
A friendly welcome village
The Lozère Trail village is set up in Chanac, where runners and their families can find partner stands, bib collection, catering, and the festive atmosphere that characterizes the event. The friendly spirit and warm welcome from the volunteers have earned this race its reputation within the trail running community.
