The heart of Tours in Christmas colors

Each year, the Marché de Noël de Tours transforms the city center of the Touraine capital into a true Christmas village. Organized by Tours Métropole Val de Loire, this festive event has become an unmissable event for the inhabitants of the agglomeration and visitors passing through Touraine. From late November to late December, the main streets and squares of the city center are adorned with lights and host dozens of chalets offering crafts, gifts, and gourmet specialties.

Three locations, three atmospheres

The Marché de Noël de Tours is spread over three distinct sites in the heart of the city. The boulevard Heurteloup, a large tree-lined avenue, hosts the main artisan market with its chalets of artisan crafts, designers, and local producers. The place de la Résistance extends this festive promenade with complementary stalls. Finally, the place Anatole France, at the foot of the Pont Wilson facing the Loire, houses the gourmet village, a friendly dining area open until January 3rd with extensions on rue Nationale, place Jean Jaurès, and the station forecourt.

Touraine craftsmanship and gastronomy

The artisan market brings together designers and artisan crafts offering jewelry, ceramics, textiles, wooden objects, scented candles, Christmas decorations, and original gifts. The gourmet village highlights the specialties of Touraine and beyond: foie gras, goat cheeses (Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine), rillons and rillettes de Tours, Vouvray and Chinon wines, artisanal chocolates, gingerbread, hot chestnuts, and mulled wine. Food trucks complete the catering offer.

Entertainment and shows

Throughout the period, the Christmas Market comes alive with street shows, concerts, parades, and entertainment for children. The Ferris wheel offers a unique panorama of the illuminated city, while carousels and funfair attractions delight the youngest. Choirs and musical ensembles perform regularly on the different sites, creating a festive musical atmosphere.

Late openings and luminous atmosphere

The chalets are open every day from 11 am to 8 pm, with late openings on Fridays and Saturdays until 9 pm. The gourmet village offers extended hours, from 12 pm to 10 pm on weekdays and until 11 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Christmas illuminations adorn the streets of the city center, the facades of monuments, and the trees on boulevard Heurteloup, creating a magical atmosphere as soon as night falls.
