Access

The Château de Morlanne is located in the village of Morlanne, between Orthez and Arzacq.

  • By car: From Pau (45 km), take the D945 towards Orthez, then the D946 towards Morlanne. From Orthez (20 km), follow signs for Arzacq.
  • By train: Orthez station, then a 20-minute drive.

The Château de Morlanne opens its courtyard for Les Week-ends de l'Histoire, an event that gathers artisans and historical-themed entertainment at the foot of this 14th-century fortress. Formerly known as the 'Fête Médiévale', the event is now held over two weekends during the summer: July 18th-19th and August 15th-16th.

The Château de Morlanne

The Château de Morlanne is a medieval fortress built in 1373 by Gaston Fébus, Viscount of Béarn. This square-plan fortified castle, flanked by corner towers, was restored in the 20th century. It houses a collection of furniture and art objects and hosts cultural events throughout the year.
