About Music Festival in Béthune
Every June 21, Béthune celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): amateur musicians, orchestras, local bands, and artists freely take over the Grand'Place, the squares, and the streets of the historic center. Organized by the City of Béthune, the day is entirely free and brings together all styles, from rock to electro, from funk to traditional music.

The 2026 Fête de la Musique in Béthune takes place on Sunday, June 21st. The festivities are free and kick off at 4:30 PM throughout the city center. Eleven different venues will host around thirty hours of live music: the Grand'Place and the Municipal Theater serve as the main stages, but you can also catch performances at the Public Garden, Place Rabin, Place Clemenceau, Place du 4-Septembre, the square and interior of Saint-Vaast Church, Rue Grosse-Tête, and the Drop Studio. From rock, chanson, and reggae to jazz, soul, folk, musette, electronic, and world music, there is something for everyone until 11:30 PM.

Practical Information

- Where: Throughout Béthune city centre — Grand'Place, Théâtre municipal, Jardin public, place Rabin, place Clemenceau, place du 4-Septembre, rue Grosse-Tête, the parvis and église Saint-Vaast, and the Drop Studio, 67 avenue de Lorette.
- Price: Free entry to all stages, no reservation needed.
- Organiser: Ville de Béthune.
- Access: The main stages are all within a few minutes' walk of each other in the historic centre; we recommend using the car parks on the outskirts of the city centre.
Fête de la Musique in Béthune
Just like everywhere else in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique turns the city of Béthune into an open-air stage every June 21st. In 2026, the celebration falls on a Sunday: music will fill public spaces for free from 4:30 PM until 11:30 PM, featuring all genres for all audiences.
Eleven venues in the heart of the historic centre
The Grand'Place and its belfry will host the main stage, with four consecutive concerts from 5:30 PM to 11:30 PM: Lily Le Groupe (gypsy jazz, pop-rock, world music), Chiara and The Big Mess performing a Woodstock tribute, Généphil playing the music of Genesis and Phil Collins, and finally Max'1 and the Rootsmakers to close the night with reggae.
The Théâtre municipal will take over indoors with performances by Bryan Helson, Gentil Bâtard, Dys The Ence, and Plastic Duck, from 6:00 PM to 10:30 PM. Throughout the surrounding area, the festivities will spread across the centre: folk at the Jardin public with Wood Colors, djembes on rue Grosse-Tête with Les Croqueux d'notes, jazz and soul on the parvis of the église Saint-Vaast with Sista Drey & Ashe Taylor, musette on place du 4-Septembre with the Accordéons Club d'Estaires, rock on place Rabin with Undead Blinies Revival, entertainment by the Music Echo association on place Clemenceau, and an organ concert by Orgu'en Béthunois inside the église Saint-Vaast.
Further afield, the Drop Studio (67 avenue de Lorette) will host a rock and hard rock marathon starting at 2:45 PM, featuring five bands. The community conservatory will also open its doors to the public at its Béthune site starting at 5:00 PM.
A free and popular celebration
The entire programme is free to attend, with no tickets or reservations required. Rock, French chanson, reggae, jazz, soul, folk, musette, electro, and world music will blend from one square to the next in a warm, festive atmosphere; local bars will keep the vibe going with their own events.
