About Music Festival in Béthune
Every June 21, Béthune celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): amateur musicians, orchestras, local bands, and artists freely take over the Grand'Place, the squares, and the streets of the historic center. Organized by the City of Béthune, the day is entirely free and brings together all styles, from rock to electro, from funk to traditional music.
The Fête de la Musique in Béthune
Like everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Béthune into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces, from late afternoon until late in the evening, in all genres and for all audiences.
A festival in the heart of the historic center
Usually, the festival unfolds around the Grand'Place and its belfry, the beating heart of Béthune, then spreads to neighboring squares and forecourts as well as the Jardin public. City center bars extend the atmosphere with their own entertainment, and open stages host local bands, the municipal orchestra, and young talent showcases, in a wide variety of styles (rock, funk, electro, folk, traditional music).
For the 2026 edition, Béthune's media libraries are joining the celebration: the band Lilly & Guys (rock / pop-rock) will perform on the forecourt of the Élie-Wiesel media library, accompanied by a musical clearance sale offering sound documents from the collections at low prices.

Usually, the festival unfolds freely around the Grand'Place and its belfry, then in the squares and forecourts of the historic center and in the Public Garden, with open stages (rock, funk, electro, folk, traditional music), the participation of the municipal brass band, and entertainment in the bars.
Confirmed for 2026: the group Lilly & Guys (rock / pop-rock) will perform on the forecourt of the Élie-Wiesel media library, with a musical flea market during the day.
