Every June 21, Boulogne-sur-Mer celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): amateur groups and established artists perform for free in the squares and streets of the city center, from afternoon choirs to concerts that continue late into the evening. Organized by the City of Boulogne-sur-Mer, the day is entirely free and open to all, featuring all musical styles.

As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms Boulogne-sur-Mer into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces, from the afternoon until the heart of the night, in all genres and for all audiences.
A festival throughout the city center
Usually, several stages are set up in the city center: Place Dalton and Rue Monsigny host the «musical terraces» that define the festival's identity in Boulogne, complemented by events on Rue Thiers and Rue Victor Hugo. The city's bars and restaurants also participate in the evening, with concerts on terraces (weather permitting) or indoors.
