Every June 21, Liévin celebrates the Fête de la Musique: free concerts take over all corners of the city, in cafés, restaurants, parks, and Cultural and Social Centers. Organized by the City of Liévin, the day is entirely free and mixes all styles, from amateur musicians to local bands.
The Fête de la Musique in Liévin
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Liévin, in Pas-de-Calais, into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces, from early evening until late into the night, in all genres and for all audiences.
A celebration throughout the city
Usually, the City of Liévin offers concerts throughout the commune: on terraces and inside cafés and restaurants, in parks and on the forecourts of Cultural and Social Centers. The Jardin public traditionally hosts a major outdoor event, with the Harmonie municipale and students from the Conservatoire municipal de musique, while the neighborhoods showcase local bands and emerging artists, with very varied styles.
