The Fête de la Musique in Houilles
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Houilles, in the Yvelines, into an open-air music stage every June 21. The highlight is concentrated on Gambetta street and Place du 14 juillet, in the heart of the city, where amateur groups from Houilles and invited artists perform for free, from early evening until late into the night.
A local stage and a headliner
In 2026, the festival highlights local Houilles bands before giving way to a more ambitious concert. The evening of Sunday, June 21, opens at 6 PM with the Chœur du Sud, then continues from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM with the local scene featuring Houille's Band, The GRAP, Tales of Memorys, and Hypersthène, in styles ranging from pop-rock to symphonic metal. The headliner, Raúl Monsalve y los Forajidos, closes the evening at 9:45 PM: the Venezuelan bassist and composer fuses African and Venezuelan traditions, psychedelic funk, jazz, and experimental electronic music.
The day before, Saturday, June 20, the festival continues during the day with a puppet parade «NUEE» at 10:45 AM and a classical music concert at the bandstand at 11:30 AM.
