The Fête de la Musique in Melun

As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Melun into an open stage every June 21. Conservatory students, talented high schoolers, local bands, and established artists perform for free in public spaces, from late afternoon until night, in all styles and for all audiences.

A festival spread across three locations

For the 2026 edition, the festival is spread across three complementary hubs: the Préfecture gardens, exceptionally open to the public for a family evening, Place Saint-Jean with its two stages (new for 2026), and Place Praslin, which extends the evening with a series of pop, funk, rock, and electro concerts programmed with Scènes 77.

The day highlights the local Melun scene — conservatories of Melun and Vaux-le-Pénil, high school talents, winners of local talent competitions — alongside invited artists, in a friendly and free atmosphere.
