Fête de la Musique in Valenciennes

Just as it has across France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique turns Valenciennes into an open-air stage every June 21st. To mark the summer solstice, music takes over public spaces for free, from late afternoon well into the night, featuring every genre for every audience.

A celebration in the heart of the city

The city gives pride of place to local amateurs and talent, who share the spotlight on stages set up in iconic Valenciennes locations: Place d'Armes, Passage de l'Arsenal, and the Museum Kiosk, as well as Square Crasseau / Place des Wantiers and Place Saint-Nicolas. Each stage has its own vibe: rock at the Museum Kiosk and Square Crasseau, and DJ sets at the Passage de l'Arsenal and Place Saint-Nicolas. The festivities don't stop there: around twenty city-center cafes and bars—from Le Beaulieu to Le Palais de la Bière, and from La Plank to the Coyotte Café—are also hosting musicians to keep the atmosphere buzzing in the squares.

Hôtel de Barneville: A highlight of the 2026 edition
