21st Edition: Music Travels in Haut-Doubs
From July 13th to 19th, 2026, the itinerant and rural festival Musiques à Saint-Hipp' returns for its 21st edition in Saint-Hippolyte and the municipalities of Pays de Maîche. True to its three principles — diversity, excellence, and conviviality — it offers a rich program ranging from classical music (Hummel, Beethoven, Schubert, Jean-Sébastien Bach) to world music (journey to Creole lands with Jambalaya, journey to Asia), including musical tales, shows for young audiences (The Story of Babar), and the great traditional dance on Saturday evening.
Concerts are held in atypical heritage sites and take place from morning to evening: aubades for hikers, schubertiade, "at the heart of the orchestra" concerts, guided musical tours. The week concludes on Sunday, July 19th, with the traditional closing concert.
All concerts are offered by voluntary contribution.

The festival of all music in the Haut-Doubs
Since 2006, Musiques à Saint-Hipp' has transformed the Pays de Maîche into a vast musical discovery area every summer. For about ten days in July, this touring festival unfolds its concerts in Saint-Hippolyte and the surrounding communes of the Haut-Doubs, offering the public an eclectic and demanding program in often unexpected settings.
Diversity, Rigor, and Conviviality
The festival is based on three founding pillars: diversity, rigor, and conviviality. The program travels between musical aesthetics—from German Romanticism to Flamenco, from Viennese Waltzes to World Music, including Jazz, French Chanson, Baroque music, and Contemporary music. Each concert is a musical journey that takes the audience on a discovery of varied repertoires performed by talented artists.
Atypical Heritage Sites
One of the unique aspects of Musiques à Saint-Hipp' is programming its concerts in often atypical heritage sites. Musicians perform in churches, chapels, village squares, but also in surprising places like the Musée de la Pince in Montécheroux, a woodworking workshop in Saint-Hippolyte, renovated barns, or private gardens. This approach allows the public to rediscover the architectural and natural heritage of the Pays de Maîche while experiencing intense musical moments.
A Festival Driven by a Committed Association
The festival is driven by the association Musiques à Saint-Hipp' Anim', recognized as being of general interest, which has around 200 members, including about fifty active volunteers. Created at the end of 2016, the association took over from the Saint-Hippolyte Tourist Office for the organization of the festival, thus perpetuating an event that has become essential in the cultural landscape of the Haut-Doubs. The festival was originally an initiative of musicians from the Pays de Montbéliard with the support of the Communauté de Communes de Saint-Hippolyte.
20 Years of Music in 2025
In 2025, Musiques à Saint-Hipp' celebrates its 20th edition with an enriched program of 24 events from July 14 to 20, confirming the vitality and influence of this unique festival.
