The new festival of club culture and electronic music in Paris
The Nightclubbing Festival is a new Parisian event dedicated to electronic music and club culture, with its very first edition taking place in September 2026. Conceived by DJ, producer, and label boss Jen Cardini in collaboration with AEG Presents France, this festival will take over the Grande Halle de la Villette as well as several clubs and cultural venues in the capital for a series of parties, conferences, installations, and meetings exploring all facets of club culture: Detroit techno, Chicago house, European free parties, and contemporary sound experiments.
Beyond the musical program, Nightclubbing asserts the political and emotional heritage of nightlife: originally envisioned as a platform and refuge for queer artists and marginalized communities, the festival connects club culture to current issues — climate justice, gender equality, and LGBTQIA+ rights. A collaboration with the Mutek festival has been announced.
The Nightclubbing Festival will launch in 2026 in Paris. Born from the collective and party series « Nightclubbing » led by DJ and producer Jen Cardini — a platform dedicated to queer artists and designed as a refuge for marginalized communities — the event takes a new step by becoming a full-fledged festival, organized with AEG Presents France.
Nightclubbing stands out from classic electronic festivals with its hybrid format. In addition to musical evenings in clubs and concert halls, there will be conferences, round tables, installations, and collaborations dedicated to the history and aesthetics of club culture. The festival highlights the « collective power of the dancefloor » and explores the evolutions of nightlife: inclusivity, the place of women and LGBTQIA+ communities in festive spaces, and the climatic and social challenges of electronic music.
The musical program covers a wide spectrum of electronic music, from the most radical techno to the most soulful house, from ambient to bass music. Under the artistic direction of Jen Cardini, the festival brings together scene legends and emerging artists, and draws on the political heritage of clubbing — from Chicago house to Detroit techno, including European free parties. A collaboration with the Mutek festival is planned to enrich the program.
The Grande Halle de la Villette, in the 19th arrondissement, serves as the central hub, with satellite parties in several clubs and cultural venues across the city, on both sides of the périphérique. This nocturnal mapping illustrates the renewed dynamism of the Parisian electronic scene, which has put the capital back on the global map of electronic music since the 2010s.
