About Nightclubbing
The Nightclubbing Festival was a Parisian electronic music and club culture project, announced in October 2025 by DJ, producer, and label founder Jen Cardini in partnership with AEG Presents France. Its first edition, originally slated for September 24-27, 2026, across La Villette and various clubs in the capital, was cancelled by the organizers on May 26, 2026.
The festival was intended to expand on Nightclubbing, a series of events and a platform for queer artists founded by Jen Cardini. Beyond concerts, the program was set to feature talks, art installations, and a collaboration with the Montreal-based festival Mutek. Cardini described the project as "a love letter to the dancefloor."

2026 Edition Cancelled
The Nightclubbing Festival was set to make its debut in Paris from September 24th to 27th, 2026, centered around La Villette with events hosted across various clubs and cultural venues throughout the city. On May 26th, 2026, the Nightclubbing team and AEG Presents France announced via the festival's Instagram account that the inaugural edition would not take place.
The official statement highlighted the project's ambition to "offer a unique experience in the heart of Paris centered on electronic music that is open, inclusive, sophisticated, and festive," before noting that "despite the commitment of our teams and the energy already invested, the conditions necessary to hold the festival are unfortunately no longer met."
No artist lineup, schedule, or pricing information was ever released prior to this announcement. The festival's page on the AEG Presents France website, which was still active in February 2026, has since been taken down.
The Nightclubbing event series, which the festival was intended to expand upon, will continue as planned. Jen Cardini is curating a Parisian date in collaboration with the Montreal-based festival Mutek on Sunday, October 18th, 2026, at the Gaîté Lyrique (Grande Salle), from 7:00 PM to midnight.

Nightclubbing Festival: A project that never saw its debut
Nightclubbing began as a series of club nights and a platform dedicated to queer artists, led by DJ and producer Jen Cardini, who has been a fixture of the electronic scene for over thirty years. In October 2025, Cardini and AEG Presents France announced its expansion into a full-scale festival, scheduled for September 24-27, 2026, in Paris.
What was announced
La Villette was set to serve as the main hub, with additional events hosted in various clubs and cultural venues across the city. The project aimed to bridge the political heritage of electronic music—from Chicago house and Detroit techno to European free parties—with contemporary discussions on gender, climate, and LGBTQIA+ rights. A partnership with the Mutek festival was planned, alongside a series of talks and installations.
Cancellation of the 2026 edition
On May 26, 2026, the Nightclubbing team and AEG Presents France announced that the 2026 edition would not take place, stating that the necessary conditions for its realization were "no longer met." No artists had been announced, and tickets had not gone on sale. The Nightclubbing club night series continues to operate as usual.
