Music in the heart of the Haut-Bugey

In the heart of the Parc René Nicod, an 18,000 m2 green haven in central Oyonnax, the Oh! Bugey Festival has established itself since its creation in 2016 as the must-attend summer music event in the Haut-Bugey. Over three evenings, the festival welcomes renowned artists in an intimate, leafy setting, offering audiences a unique musical experience between the historic bandstand and the modern stage.

A 100% volunteer-run festival

The Oh! Bugey Festival is run by the Culture Oh! Bugey association, whose members are all volunteers. This human dimension is the festival's very DNA. Born from the drive of music lovers and supported by the Haut-Bugey intercommunal authority, the event is a genuine collective project that mobilises dozens of volunteers each year to deliver three quality evenings for the public.

The first editions were held at Échallon before the festival settled permanently at the Parc René Nicod in Oyonnax, taking advantage of a more spacious setting and better accessibility. This move allowed the festival to grow and welcome nationally and internationally renowned artists.

A varied and ambitious programme

The Oh! Bugey Festival's strength lies in its eclectic programme, capable of attracting a broad, multi-generational audience. Over the years, the festival has hosted artists as diverse as Ibrahim Maalouf, a world-renowned virtuoso trumpeter, Louis Bertignac, an iconic figure in French rock, Aldebert, a benchmark for children's and family songs, Matt Pokora and Adé.

Each evening is designed to offer a different musical journey: from French chanson to international pop, from jazz to world music, the festival refuses to confine itself to a single genre, better reflecting the diversity of its audience's tastes. This artistic openness, combined with a three-evening format, allows it to appeal to families and discerning music lovers alike.

An enchanting setting and a VIP area

The Parc René Nicod, with its bandstand built in 1885 and its great century-old trees, provides an exceptional natural setting for an open-air festival. Spectators can enjoy the concerts comfortably settled on the park lawn, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

For those seeking a premium experience, a VIP area is located at the top of the park, offering a stunning view of the stage. VIP ticket holders enjoy a cocktail dinner prepared by a regional caterer, served by a dynamic team, in an exclusive setting.

A driver for the local area

Beyond the music, the Oh! Bugey Festival plays an important role in the cultural and tourism appeal of the Haut-Bugey. The event contributes to the attractiveness of Oyonnax, a town historically known for its plastics industry, by providing a festive and cultural showcase. The festival also helps promote local heritage and creates a moment of sharing and togetherness for all the inhabitants of the area.
