Chahut dans le Ciel: The festival that makes Montciel vibrate

Chahut dans le Ciel is a live performance festival that illuminates the Montciel plateau, perched in the heights of Lons-le-Saunier in the Jura region, every end of summer. For three days, this festive and popular event combines concerts, circus, street arts, and participatory activities in a joyful and quirky atmosphere.

From its origins to the Montciel plateau

The festival was born in 2015 under the name Chahut au Château, then located at the Château de Gevingey. For seven editions, the event grew in this historic setting before taking flight in 2022 by settling on the Montciel plateau, an incredible green space overlooking Lons-le-Saunier. This move earned it its new name: Chahut dans le Ciel.

The association Les Colorieurs

The festival is driven by the association Les Colorieurs, founded in October 2014. This team of enthusiasts works all year round to offer an event that is accessible, friendly, and artistically demanding. The association mobilizes numerous volunteers and relies on the support of SPEDIDAM for artists, creation, and live performance.

An eclectic and festive program

Each edition of Chahut dans le Ciel offers a rich and varied program: contemporary music concerts (funk, soul, world music, chanson), contemporary circus shows, street theater companies, and outdoor artists. The festival has notably hosted artists such as Kolinga, Old School Funky Family, Toma Sidibé, and many circus and street arts companies.

Les Chahutages: Participatory activities

Beyond the shows, the festival offers Les Chahutages, quirky participatory activities that are the event's signature: giant duck fishing, human bowling, bumper cars, romantic Ferris wheel, grand musical chairs tournament, birthday cake and cotton candy making. A reinvented funfair spirit that delights young and old alike.
