Free and multidisciplinary cultural season in Mâcon
Été Frappé is much more than a festival: it's a true summer cultural season that transforms Mâcon into a vibrant and festive city for over two months. Supported by the City of Mâcon, this free program, open to all, embodies the ambition of an accessible cultural policy, where every resident and visitor can enjoy quality events without financial barriers.
The highlight of Été Frappé is the major free concerts on Esplanade Lamartine, by the Saône river. Each year, headliners attract thousands of spectators to this exceptional setting, between river and mountain, facing the Saint-Laurent bridge and the Bresse hill. In 2024, Magic System gathered over 15,000 people; in 2025, the legendary group Kassav', international leader of zouk, made Mâcon vibrate on August 29 and 30.
Throughout the summer, guinguettes revive the art of popular dance along the Saône, with accordion and traditional music. The program also includes contemporary dance performances, concerts by the Mâcon Symphonic Orchestra, thematic visits to the Musée des Ursulines, and family activities. The Festival Latino Mâconnais (FLAM) and the Nuits d'Été further enrich this multidisciplinary offering.
The strength of Été Frappé lies in its diversity and its free access. From the Latin rhythms of FLAM to the chamber music harmonies of Nuits d'Été, from popular guinguettes to symphonic concerts, everyone finds something to enjoy in this abundant program. Around thirty artistic, cultural, and sporting proposals punctuate Mâcon's two summer months. Été Frappé is a reflection of a city that lives and vibrates, at the crossroads of Burgundy and Beaujolais, between vineyards and waterways.
