Dare to experience classical music differently

The festival "Osez le Classique !" carries its philosophy in its very name: making classical and contemporary music accessible to everyone in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The Association Musiques Vivantes, founded in Vichy, created this summer event to offer a different musical experience, far from the traditional codes of classical concerts, in remarkable heritage locations in the Allier and Puy-de-Dôme regions.

Concerts in exceptional locations

The festival programs nine concerts in prestigious heritage sites, including the Domaine Royal de Randan (Puy-de-Dôme), former residence of the Orléans family. Each location offers unique acoustics and atmosphere that enhance the musical performances. Concerts begin in the late afternoon, allowing spectators to enjoy the beauty of the sites in the golden summer light.

An eclectic and demanding program

The program blends internationally renowned artists and promising young talents. Ensembles range from solo recitals to large formations such as chamber orchestras and choirs. The repertoire covers a wide spectrum, from the baroque music of Handel and Vivaldi to contemporary works, as well as the great romantic composers. A composer in residence is invited each year to create a dialogue between musical heritage and living creation.

Encounters, conviviality, and sharing

Beyond the concerts, the festival offers theatrical encounters, exhibitions, master classes, and free convivial moments (afterworks, shared meals) that foster exchanges between artists and the public. This human and warm dimension, based on values of generosity and conviviality, distinguishes the festival and builds loyalty among an enthusiastic audience year after year.
