Sacred Music Festival: spirituality through music

Since 1987, the Perpignan Sacred Music Festival has invited the public to a unique experience combining spirituality, heritage, and musical excellence. Each spring, for three weeks, the churches and heritage sites of Perpignan resonate with sacred music in all its forms.

A festival at the heart of Perpignan's heritage

The concerts take place in the most beautiful religious and cultural buildings in Perpignan:

  • Dominicans Church: Gothic gem of the 14th century
  • Saint-Jean-Baptiste Cathedral: seat of the bishopric
  • Saint-Jacques Church: birthplace of the Procession de la Sanch
  • Théâtre de l'Archipel: national stage of Perpignan
  • Campo Santo: medieval cloister

These exceptional venues offer remarkable acoustics and an atmosphere conducive to contemplation and musical emotion.

An eclectic and demanding program

The festival explores sacred music in all its diversity: Gregorian chant, medieval polyphony, great Baroque and classical works (Bach, Mozart, Vivaldi, Handel), contemporary creations, sacred music from the East and West, gospels, and spirituals. Each edition is structured around a theme that guides the programming and gives artistic coherence to the whole.

A free and popular festival

True to its vocation as a popular and accessible festival, Perpignan Sacred Music offers most of its events for free. Paid concerts have very affordable prices, from 1 to 32 euros, allowing as many people as possible to discover the richness of sacred music.
