The voices of the world resonate in Mosset
Created in 2018 by professional singers passionate about polyphony, the Festival Ressons was born from the desire to create a festival dedicated to the voice and polyphonic singing in a region — Catalan Conflent — where no event of this kind existed. The name Ressons, meaning "echoes" in Occitan and Catalan, evokes the resonance of voices between cultures and traditions.
A crossroads of vocal traditions
The festival invites polyphonic groups from Occitanie, Catalonia, the Balkans, and other regions of the world, each carrying its own vocal tradition. These ensembles share their repertoire and unique style during evening concerts, creating a dialogue between different forms of polyphony: sacred and secular songs, Pyrenean traditions, Mediterranean and Balkan polyphonies.
Workshops and processions
Beyond the concerts, the Festival Ressons offers polyphonic singing workshops open to all, led by the invited artists. Participants discover the vocal techniques specific to each tradition, from Occitan Pyrenean singing to Catalan polyphonies. On Sunday, a sung procession — the Aubades — leads festival-goers through the streets of Mosset for a guided and sung vocal journey as part of the Heritage Days.
Mosset, a stone setting for voices
The village of Mosset, with its medieval alleys, church, and stone squares, offers a remarkable acoustic and heritage setting for this festival dedicated to the voice. Concerts take place in the village church or in the squares, benefiting from natural resonance that enhances polyphonic harmonics.
