The Pont-de-Montvert Christmas Market: 100% Cévenol gifts
Every first Sunday in December, the village of Pont-de-Montvert, in the heart of Mont Lozère and the Cévennes National Park, hosts its Christmas market in an authentic and warm atmosphere. Organized by the Pont de Montvert Festival Committee, this event showcases Cévenol artisans and producers.
Cévenol craftsmanship and terroir
The market offers a selection of 100% Cévenol gifts, prioritizing short supply chains and local know-how:
- Artisanal objects: pottery, basketry, woodwork, jewelry, textiles
- Local creations: Christmas decorations, toys, decorative objects
- Regional products: jams, honey, cheeses, chestnuts, pélardons
Entertainment and conviviality
The Pont-de-Montvert Christmas Market is not just about selling products. A varied program of entertainment accompanies the day:
- Shows and concerts for all ages
- Creative workshops for children and families
- Tastings of local products
- Hot chocolate and mulled wine to warm up
- Comforting soups prepared by volunteers
A village steeped in history
Pont-de-Montvert is a historic village in the Cévennes, famous for being the starting point of the Camisard War in 1702. Crossed by the Tarn river, it offers a picturesque setting with its old bridge, schist houses, and mountain landscapes. The Christmas market is part of the dynamic associative life of this village which, despite its small size, offers many events throughout the year.
In the heart of the Cévennes National Park
Located within the Cévennes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, Pont-de-Montvert benefits from a preserved natural environment. Visitors to the Christmas market can take advantage of this getaway to discover the magnificent landscapes of the snow-covered Mont Lozère, the beech forests, and the Cévenol valleys in their winter attire.
