Association Music'al Sol
An engaged festival between music and sustainable development
Born in 2015 from the initiative of the association Music'al Sol, Régal Sound is an atypical festival that combines contemporary music and civic engagement. The festival clearly positions itself as a militant event, in partnership with the Mouvement de la paix audois and Amnesty International, defending the values of peace, solidarity, and respect for the environment. This engaged dimension is reflected in the musical programming as well as in the activities offered throughout the festival.
Reggae, dub, electro and hip-hop
The musical programming of Régal Sound covers a wide spectrum of contemporary music, with a focus on reggae and dub:
- Reggae and ragga: sound systems, live bands and international artists
- Dub and electro-dub: sound creations and live performances
- Hip-hop and rap: local and national artists
- Drum & bass and electro: DJ sets and live acts
- Ska and engaged song: festive and militant groups
The festival hosts international headliners as well as local and emerging artists, in a spirit of discovery and sharing.
Workshops, debates and family activities
Beyond music, Régal Sound offers a true associative village with discussion and animation spaces:
- Graffiti workshops and street art
- Introduction to beatbox and hip-hop dance
- Debate spaces on sustainable development, peace, and solidarity
- Activities for young audiences on Sundays
Saturday afternoon is free and open to all, allowing families to enjoy the workshops and activities in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
From Lac de Jouarres to the Minervois
Régal Sound first settled at Lac de Jouarres in Homps, an exceptional natural site on the banks of the Canal du Midi, offering an outdoor festival setting with a beach, swimming, and the wine landscapes of the Minervois. The festival later moved to Trèbes for some editions, while remaining anchored in the Minervois region. The association Music'al Sol, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2023, continues to carry this project with passion and commitment.
