Limited to 500 participants, the festival cultivates a friendly, participatory, and committed spirit, with organic and local catering, an artisanal beer bar, and on-site camping. Entry is on a free and solidarity-based pricing system, free for children under 12.
Résilience Festival is a musical and civic event created in 2022 in Le Chambon-sur-Lignon, Haute-Loire, at the natural site of La Plage, on the banks of the Lignon du Velay. Supported by the association Les Rondins des Bois, founded in 2019, the festival is part of a ecological and social transition approach, combining musical discovery, environmental awareness, and do-it-yourself practices. Limited to 500 participants, it offers a human-scale experience in a preserved natural setting, one hour from Saint-Étienne and two hours from Lyon.
Each edition of Résilience Festival features two evenings of concerts, from Friday evening to Saturday night, with an eclectic program mixing rap, electro dub, techno, drum & bass, and world music. The festival traditionally opens with an open mic open to all upon registration, followed by a theater performance and fire shows. The artists programmed, emerging or established, share a common sensitivity to ecological and social issues. Among the artists hosted in previous editions: Sanse & José (rap), Zoonra (electro dub), Myria Idha, and Xia Lin.
Saturday is dedicated to a rich program of participatory workshops and conferences. Festival-goers can learn about clothing repair, textile creation, woodworking, macrame weaving, and screen printing, in a spirit of knowledge sharing and waste reduction. Round tables and talks address themes of sustainable food, bird conservation, local botany, and energy transition. A fun and educational explore game invites young and old to discover the biodiversity challenges of the Lignon. Discussion circles on medicinal plants and natural cycles complete the program, led by local associations such as Totum, Sismae, and Ouf.
Résilience Festival puts its ecological convictions into practice through responsible organization. Catering is provided by organic and local producers, with a food truck prioritizing short supply chains. The bar offers artisanal beers from the region. The festival encourages zero waste and eco-responsible practices on site. Camping is allowed on site (glass bottles forbidden), very close to a swimming area in the Lignon, accessible in three minutes on foot.
The choice of Le Chambon-sur-Lignon as the festival location is not accidental. This village in the Haut-Lignon, a UNESCO World Heritage site for the actions of its inhabitants who saved thousands of refugees during World War II, embodies values of solidarity, resistance, and civic engagement that deeply resonate with the spirit of Résilience Festival. The La Plage site, nestled in a green setting on the banks of the Lignon, offers an ideal setting for a festival that promotes reconnection with nature and with each other.
