Royal Vybz is a unique musical event that makes Sound System culture and Jamaican music resonate within the walls of the Royal Saltworks of Arc-et-Senans, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This bold encounter between Jamaican music and 18th-century architectural heritage creates an unprecedented sensory experience.

The Royal Vybz evening celebrates the richness of Jamaican-inspired music:

• Reggae: the music of peace and love born in Jamaica
• Dub: deep bass and studio sound effects

Featured Artists

The event features iconic artists from the French-speaking Sound System scene, notably OBF, an essential pillar of French dub, accompanied by MC Charlie P. The lineup also includes MTZx, the dance collective Porte Avion, and the female dancehall trio G.ruL3rs.

A Project Driven by Passion

Royal Vybz was born from the collaboration of three committed associations:

• Well Living: an association driven by a desire for openness and sharing, supporting emerging artists and creating events that foster social and cultural connection in rural areas
• Uppertone: a collective dedicated to promoting Sound System music
• High Legal Brothers: players in the local reggae and dub scene

An Exceptional Venue

The choice of the Royal Saltworks as the venue is no coincidence. The ambition is to create a dialogue between the popular culture of sound systems and the visionary architecture of Claude-Nicolas Ledoux, in a site steeped in history and culture. The concerts take place in the Ledoux hall, offering unique acoustics and atmosphere for this type of event.
