An exhibition dedicated to thread and textile arts
The Salon Fil en Art is a major event for lovers of embroidery, patchwork, sewing, and textile arts in the Indre department. Organized in Buzançais, this friendly exhibition brings together each year a rigorous selection of creators and artisans specializing in thread arts, offering visitors an exceptional showcase of French textile know-how.
Talented creators from all over France
Each edition hosts approximately 24 selected exhibitors, coming from all over France and sometimes Italy. These artisans offer a complete range of textile disciplines: cross-stitch embroidery, boutis (traditional Provençal relief embroidery technique), traditional embroidery, patchwork, cartonnage, creative sewing, and many other techniques. Visitors can admire unique pieces, discover new techniques, and purchase quality supplies: embroidery threads, fabrics, creation kits, and accessories.
A place for exchange and sharing
Beyond the exhibition and sale, the Salon Fil en Art is a true place for meeting and sharing among enthusiasts. The creators present are happy to share their experience, advise visitors on techniques and materials, and pass on their passion for thread arts. The warm and friendly atmosphere of the Buzançais festival hall makes it a popular event for embroiderers, quilters, and sewers from the entire Centre-Val de Loire region and beyond.
An event rooted in the territory
Created in 2018, the Salon Fil en Art quickly established itself as a benchmark event in the French textile exhibition landscape. Supported by the association Cecels, it contributes to the cultural and artisanal influence of Buzançais and the Indre department. The exhibition promotes artistic crafts related to textiles and perpetuates ancestral know-how while encouraging contemporary creation. Its growing success reflects the increasing enthusiasm for thread arts and textile creative hobbies.
