Free multidisciplinary festival on the banks of the Seine in Sartrouville
Scènes en Seine is the major spring cultural event in Sartrouville. Every year in May, the banks of the Seine and the Dispensaire park are transformed into a vast open-air stage for a festive, car-free afternoon. Concerts, dance, magic, participatory shows, and activities for all ages follow one another in a bucolic riverside setting, offering families and strollers a multidisciplinary and entirely free artistic interlude. Supported by the City of Sartrouville, this popular festival kicks off the 'Dimanches au quai' season, these pedestrian Sundays that liven up the riverbanks from May to October.
Born from the municipal desire to revitalize the banks of the Seine, Scènes en Seine has quickly established itself as one of Sartrouville's flagship cultural events. This multidisciplinary and free festival offers each year, for one Sunday in May, an eclectic artistic program in an exceptional setting: the Seine quays and the Dispensaire park, freed from cars for the occasion.
The event marks the launch of the Dimanches au quai (Sundays on the Quay), a series of pedestrian Sundays that liven up the banks of the Seine from May to October. The idea is simple yet ambitious: to transform the riverbanks into a space for conviviality, discovery, and sharing, where local artists and professional companies perform for a family audience.
The Scènes en Seine program happily blends disciplines and formats. You'll find concerts of rock, folk, or popular music, dance shows, magic, juggling, participatory activities like giant karaoke, as well as more intimate artistic proposals. The city launches a call for applications open to Sartrouville artists, thus promoting the spotlight on local talent.
Scènes en Seine reflects the cultural diversity of Sartrouville and its inhabitants' attachment to their riverbanks. The festival attracts several thousand visitors each year, who come to enjoy a festive afternoon by the water. Volunteers and local associations actively participate in the organization, making this event a true territorial project.
The natural setting of the Seine quays gives Scènes en Seine a unique atmosphere. Spectators settle on the lawns of the Dispensaire park, stroll along the quay, and discover the different stages as they walk. The absence of cars reinforces the feeling of freedom and relaxation, inviting young and old to fully enjoy this artistic afternoon.
The complete freeness of the event is a deliberate choice by the City of Sartrouville. It guarantees access to culture for all audiences, without distinction, and contributes to the municipality's influence far beyond its borders. Specific activities are offered to children, with creative workshops, face painting, and games, making Scènes en Seine a truly family-friendly event.
The 3rd edition of Scènes en Seine is scheduled for Sunday, May 24, 2026, on the banks of the Seine and in the Dispensaire park in Sartrouville. A festive, free, and car-free afternoon, blending concerts, live performances, and activities for all audiences.
