About Singing Stones in the Vallée Noire
Every year between June and September, the Pierres qui chantent en Vallée Noire festival hosts concerts in the churches and heritage sites of the Pays de George Sand, near La Châtre. Each evening features two ensembles with contrasting styles, followed by a guided tour of the venue during the intermission. Admission is free, and no booking is required. The festival is organized by the Pays de George Sand Tourist Office.
Singing Stones in the Vallée Noire — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Pierres qui chantent en Vallée Noire festival features three concerts between July and September, hosted in the churches of Pouligny-Notre-Dame, Sainte-Sévère-sur-Indre, and Vicq-Exemplet. The Poitiers-based vocal quartet Misuk and the Breton-inspired Quartet Lapilli will bring the season to a close on September 12th in Vicq-Exemplet. Each evening pairs two ensembles with contrasting styles, accompanied by a guided tour of the venue during the intermission. Admission is free.
