Film and image-making festival in Sainte-Sévère-sur-Indre (formerly Tati en Fête)
Cinévillage is the film festival of Sainte-Sévère-sur-Indre (Indre), heir to the Tati en Fête festival, which it will take over in 2026. Organized by the Tati en Fête association, created in 2007 in the village where Jacques Tati filmed Jour de Fête, Cinévillage broadens the adventure: beyond humorous short films, the festival more widely celebrates cinema and the "image factory" through screenings, meetings, workshops, and exhibitions. A friendly and interactive program that invites young and old to dive into the heart of cinematic creation, in the participatory and popular spirit of the filming of Jour de Fête.
In 2026, the Tati en Fête festival gets a makeover and becomes Cinévillage. This reimagined edition celebrates cinema and the image factory: by placing the audience at the heart of creation, Cinévillage invites young and old to immerse themselves in a poetic and mischievous universe. The festival takes place in Sainte-Sévère-sur-Indre, the village where Jacques Tati filmed Jour de Fête by directly recruiting its inhabitants — it is this participatory and popular spirit that gives the event its soul today.
Cinévillage aims to be more than just a screening venue; it's a living space where everything comes alive: movement, light, and sound become materials to explore, spread across three complementary areas.
To echo the comic genius, poetry, and ingenuity of Jacques Tati, Cinévillage, in partnership with Ciclic Centre-Val de Loire, unveils a selection celebrating humor, singularity, and the passion for cinema. Laughter as a legacy — humorous short films, the DNA of the Tati en Fête association — sits alongside sessions designed for young audiences and odes to "DIY" and collective cinema, such as Man on the Moon and Be Kind Rewind. The highlight is the preview of Louis Clichy's film Le Corset (Special Jury Prize Un Certain Regard, Cannes 2026).
The Tati en Fête association was created in 2007 in Sainte-Sévère-sur-Indre, on the occasion of the centenary of Jacques Tati's birth and the sixtieth anniversary of Jour de Fête, filmed in this village (renamed Follainville on screen). Faithful to the filmmaker's wish — «Defend short films, ensure that young filmmakers can express themselves» (Jacques Tati, Césars 1977) — the association perpetuates this duty of remembrance and extends it today with Cinévillage.

For its new format, the festival unfolds across three spaces: the Cinémobile (screenings and meetings), the Granges and the Halle (workshops and exhibition), and the square (happenings, cinema market, and catering).
