Meetings and signings with about forty authors in an intimate atmosphere
The Souffelweyersheim Book Fair is a warm literary event held every autumn, on the first weekend of November, at the Espace Culturel des Sept Arpents. Since its creation in 2007, this fair has established itself as a must-attend event for readers in the Strasbourg region and beyond. Its intimate, human-scale format fosters authentic exchanges between authors and readers, far from the anonymity of large fairs.
Each edition brings together about forty authors with very diverse literary universes. The program features fiction in all its forms: crime novels, thrillers, adventure novels, romance novels, young adult, fantasy, science fiction. But the fair also welcomes essayists, poets, authors of historical works, and many children's authors, offering a complete literary palette that appeals to all reader profiles.
The Souffelweyersheim Book Fair particularly highlights authors from the Grand Est region, with a strong representation from Alsace and Moselle. But the fair is also open to geographical diversity, sometimes welcoming authors from Brittany or other regions of France. This diversity of origins enriches exchanges and allows readers to discover varied literary voices.
The fair pays special attention to children's literature. Specialized authors and illustrators offer books for all ages, from illustrated albums to novels for teenagers. This children's section makes the fair a truly family-friendly event, where parents and children share the pleasure of literary discovery and meeting creators.
Admission to the fair is completely free, reflecting the desire to make literature accessible to as many people as possible. Light refreshments are available on-site, allowing visitors to extend their visit in a relaxed atmosphere. The list of participating authors is published a few days before the event on the Souffelweyersheim town website, allowing readers to prepare their meetings and purchases.
The Souffelweyersheim Book Fair returns on Saturday, October 31st, and Sunday, November 1st, 2026, at the Espace Culturel des Sept Arpents. About forty authors—novelists, essayists, poets, and children's authors—will be present for free meetings and signings. The list of participating authors will be published on the town's website a few days before the event.
