A festival in the heart of the Vieux Couvent
Since 2016, the Submersons festival has enlivened the Vieux Couvent de Muzillac, a cultural center housed in a former convent in the heart of this town in southeastern Morbihan, on the borders of Brittany and Loire-Atlantique. This heritage site offers an intimate and warm setting, ideal for musical discovery and encounters between artists and the public.
A program focused on discovery
Submersons' hallmark is its eclectic and demanding program, focused on discovery and emerging artists. The festival hosts artists from roots chanson, blues, independent pop, electro, swing hip-hop, and many other genres, offering the public a panorama of contemporary music off the beaten track. Each evening is designed as a musical journey, with DJ sets between concerts to maintain the festive atmosphere.
Supported by the association Les Nuits Vilaines
Submersons is organized by the association Les Nuits Vilaines, which also runs the eponymous festival in Péaule. This dual activity demonstrates the associative and cultural vitality of southern Morbihan and allows for the pooling of skills and networks in service of live music. After the success of the first edition, the association has continued to write its musical history in Muzillac.
Muzillac, land of contemporary music
Located on the border between Morbihan and Loire-Atlantique, Muzillac is a dynamic town that benefits from an active cultural center around the Vieux Couvent. The Submersons festival contributes to this dynamic by offering a quality musical event that enriches local cultural life and attracts a curious and open-minded audience from all over southern Brittany.
An intimate and friendly format
The choice of a human-sized format, concentrated on a week of concerts in a unique location, gives Submersons a special atmosphere. Far from mega-festivals, the event favors proximity between artists and the public, informal exchanges after concerts, and quality listening. It is this intimacy that makes Submersons' charm and identity.
