Lorient's eclectic festival between rock, reggae, and world music
Created in 1994 in Quimper, Festival Insolent is a contemporary music festival that now takes place at the Parc des Expositions in Lanester, in the Lorient area. Offering two editions per year, in spring and autumn, the festival features an eclectic lineup mixing rock, reggae, hip-hop, electro, and world music. With its two stages (Grand Hall and Petit Hall), Festival Insolent offers an intense and friendly musical experience, bringing together a diverse audience around national and international headliners and artistic discoveries.
Since its creation in 1994 in Quimper, Festival Insolent has traveled through Brittany before settling permanently at the Parc des Expositions de Lanester, on the outskirts of Lorient. This touring festival has made stops in Morlaix, Brest, Vannes, and Landerneau before finding its home port in the Lorient area.
The originality of Festival Insolent lies in its format of two annual "collections": a spring edition and an autumn edition. Each collection offers a full lineup over an intense day, with concerts running on two stages at the Parc des Expositions. This format allows for regular renewal of the programming and fosters loyalty among an audience eager for musical discoveries.
Festival Insolent stands out for the diversity of its programming, which does not hesitate to mix genres and aesthetics. From rock to reggae, from hip-hop to electro, from world music to unclassifiable discoveries, each collection offers a rich and surprising musical panorama. Renowned national and international artists rub shoulders with emerging talents, in a spirit of curiosity and openness.
The Grand Hall hosts the headliners and large-scale concerts, while the Petit Hall offers a more intimate program focused on discovery. This setup allows festival-goers to move between the two stages throughout the day.
Festival Insolent is organized by Régie Scène, a live performance production and distribution company based in Brittany. This professional expertise guarantees quality reception and production for artists and the public.
Festival Insolent will return in 2026 with its spring and autumn editions at the Parc des Expositions in Lanester. Dates and lineup will be announced later on the official website.
