About La Bogue d'Or
Every autumn, La Bogue d'Or brings together the music, songs, and oral storytelling traditions of Upper Brittany in Redon. Established in 1975 by the Groupement Culturel Breton des Pays de Vilaine to preserve Gallo a cappella singing, it has evolved into a cornerstone of Brittany's intangible cultural heritage. The festival features a multi-day program of singing and storytelling competitions, fest-noz and fest-deiz dances, open stages, and concerts. The event follows the Foire Teillouse, a traditional chestnut market held on the fourth Saturday of October, where stalls of chestnuts have gradually made room for local musicians and singers.
La Bogue d'Or — edition 2026
For its 51st edition, the Bogue d'Or is moving away from the Croix des Marins site, which is currently undergoing renovations, and will instead be held at the Carré 9 and its surrounding area under marquees. The storytelling and singing competitions will remain at the Théâtre du Canal, while the rest of the program—featuring fest-noz, fest-deiz, and open-mic sessions—will take place alongside the Foire Teillouse and its traditional chestnut taverns.
