Yaouank, Brittany's largest fest-noz

Yaouank is a Breton culture festival organized every autumn in Rennes, Ille-et-Vilaine. For nearly three weeks, it features concerts, shows, exhibitions, and fest-noz in several cultural venues in Rennes and its metropolitan area, blending Breton traditions with contemporary expressions. The festival concludes with a huge fest-noz at Parc Expo de Rennes, considered Brittany's largest fest-noz : several thousand dancers gather there for a night of traditional dance and music.

A celebration of living Breton culture

Yaouank (' young ' in Breton) celebrates traditional Breton music in all its forms : pipers (sonneurs), bagadoù (Breton pipe bands), fest-noz groups, Breton singing, and dances. The program brings together established figures of the Breton scene and young ensembles, fostering a spirit of transmission and conviviality between generations.

The festival is organized by Skeudenn Bro Roazhon, an organization that brings together numerous associations focused on Breton cultures and music in the Rennes region.

An unmissable event of the Rennes autumn

Having become one of Ille-et-Vilaine's major cultural events, Yaouank annually attracts a large audience from all over Brittany and beyond. In addition to the grand final fest-noz, the festival offers a series of events in emblematic venues across the Rennes metropolitan area, as well as in neighboring towns.
