The open-air scenic route through the Vosges villages
A traveling and free festival that crisscrosses the villages of the Bruyères sector in the Vosges every summer. Supported by the Compagnie des Joli(e)s Mômes and over 140 volunteers, the Tambouille Festival transforms meadows, squares, and clearings into ephemeral open-air stages for ten days. Each evening, a new village hosts a live performance followed by several eclectic concerts, in a friendly and family atmosphere where music, theater, circus, humor, and good food mingle.
Since 2009, the Tambouille Festival has traversed the villages of the Bruyères sector to offer residents and visitors a unique artistic journey. Conceived by the Compagnie des Joli(e)s Mômes, a theater company based in Épinal, this traveling festival is based on a singular principle: each evening, a different municipality transforms into an open-air performance venue, hosting a live show followed by one or more concerts.
The concept of the Tambouille Festival is as simple as it is generous. For about ten days, between late July and early August, the festival sets up in seven different towns in the Bruyères Vallons des Vosges territory. Meadows, village squares, and clearings become performance spaces featuring concerts of all styles, theater, circus, slam, and humor shows. Before the evening events, outdoor activities—treasure hunts, sensory walks in the forest, discovery rallies—invite young and old to explore the local natural heritage.
The artistic direction of Louise Fetet ensures a program that constantly pushes artistic boundaries while remaining accessible to all audiences. Over the years, the Tambouille Festival has hosted artists with diverse backgrounds: folk, brit pop, punk rock, Celtic music, jazz, reggae, French chanson, world music, Balkan brass bands, and metal. The live performances combine street theater, clowning, improvisation, storytelling, and musical comedy, giving each evening a different flavor.
The Tambouille Festival is more than just a cultural event; it's a true territorial project that unites local associations, partner municipalities, and the Bruyères Vallons des Vosges Tourist Office. Each year, over 140 volunteers mobilize to bring the festival to life, from catering to technical management and audience reception. With over 7,000 spectators welcomed annually, the Tambouille Festival has established itself as a must-attend summer event in the Vosges, creating a bubble of music, performance, joy, and encounters in the heart of the Lorraine countryside.
The Tambouille Festival returns for its 18th edition with its traveling concept through the villages of the Bruyères sector. Each evening, a new village, a show, and several open-air concerts in a festive and friendly atmosphere.
From July 30 to August 8, 2026, the Tambouille Festival will resume its route through the Vosges villages, with stops planned in Champ-le-Duc, Laveline-devant-Bruyères, Lépanges-sur-Vologne, La Neuveville-devant-Lépanges, Bult, Bruyères, and Dompierre. The artistic program will be announced in the spring of 2026.
