About Teinturerie Festival
Every year, the Festival de la Teinturerie transforms the streets of Aurec-sur-Loire, in the Haute-Loire region, into an open-air gallery. Over a weekend in late September, French and international street artists create monumental murals live on the town's walls, spanning the La Teinturerie site, the medieval town center, and the castle. Street performances, workshops, exhibitions, and sports activities round out this free event, which is open to everyone. Organized by the Aurec-sur-Loire town hall in partnership with the tourist office and the castle, the festival marks the grand finale of the MURMurs d'Aurec cultural season.
Teinturerie Festival — edition 2026
The 7th edition of the Festival de la Teinturerie takes place on September 26th and 27th, 2026, in Aurec-sur-Loire. New street artists will be painting live on the town's walls—spanning La Teinturerie, the medieval village, and the castle—with street performances, workshops, and sports activities on the agenda. Admission is free.
Three sites, one trail
As in previous years, the festival unfolds across three locations: La Teinturerie, the heart of the event and the starting point for sports and artistic activities; the medieval village and the castle, which host workshops, exhibitions, concerts, and dining; and the market hall, dedicated to the street performances and storytelling that round off the route.
The murals painted during past editions remain visible throughout the year across the town, forming a permanent street art trail alongside the new works created live during the weekend.

Parking is available behind the Aurec-sur-Loire town hall. The festival offers several walking routes between La Teinturerie, the medieval town, and the Château d'Aurec, including a flat path around the leisure center that is accessible to strollers and people with reduced mobility.
