Seventeen years of contemporary music in the Vals de Saintonge

The festival was born in 2000, initiated by a group of young people from Tonnay-Boutonne gathered within the Objectifs Jeunes association. In a town of fewer than a thousand inhabitants, about twenty kilometers northeast of Saintes, it hosted a contemporary music event for nearly two decades with a deliberately eclectic lineup: rock, punk, reggae, dub, hip-hop, and electro were all featured from one year to the next.

From annual to biennial, then the end

After a first decade of annual gatherings, the festival switched to a biennial rhythm starting in 2010. It returned to an annual format in 2017, the year it also expanded from one to two days: this fourteenth edition, held on September 1st and 2nd, 2017, would be its last. The association later hosted other events under the name Timeless by Tonnay Bon, focusing on techno and trance, without reviving the contemporary music festival.

Why this page remains online

We keep pages for discontinued festivals: they preserve the memory of an event that actually existed and prevent outdated pages from circulating without mention of their closure. If the festival were to be revived, please write to us: we will update the page.
